Job Summary:
As a Field Engineer at DQE you will conduct field and building surveys. Be responsible for generating construction and permit drawings utilizing AutoCAD. Prepare and submit permit applications to railroads, state or local authorities. Field Engineers are required to have knowledge of the 811 One-Call system and Penndot’s ePermitting System, produce detailed building interior drawings for routing fiber and gather pole data using IKE and IKE Office. Field engineer will engineer pole space according to NESC or local utility specifications. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget. Must be local to the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid work environment.

- Prepare pole applications to submit to pole owners.
- Prepare and submit permit applications to railroad, state or local authorities.
- Conduct site surveys to assess telecommunications infrastructure requirements.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures while working in the field.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum five years AutoCAD computer aided drafting experience.
- Minimum five years of telecommunications experience.
