We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in closing financial books, managing general ledger activities, and ensuring the integrity of financial records. As an integral member of the finance team, this role will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, coordinating month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Must be local to the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid work environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper financial reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for closing.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies during the closing process.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to management regarding financial performance.
- Coordinate the annual external audit process, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Review and improve accounting procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of business tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and variance reporting to management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
- Experience in working with accounting software and financial reporting systems, NetSuite experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Experience in auditing, tax preparation, or working in a public accounting firm.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on closing financial books.
- Experience working in the telecommunication industry preferred.
